Point granite - Granite stitch

J'adore ce point. C'est l'un des premiers que j'ai découvert il y a 7 ans, quand tout d'un coup je me suis rendue compte qu'on pouvait faire autre chose au crochet que des napperons en coton.

I love this stitch. It was one of the first stitch patterns I discovered seven years ago, when I suddenly realized that crochet could be used to make other things than cotton doilies.

Je n'arrive pas à m'en lasser. J'y reviens tout le temps, teste de nouvelle combinaisons de couleur, de rayures, de textures de fil. J'essaie de l'oublier mais c'est impossible.

I never get tired of it. I come back to it all the time, to try new colour combinations, stripes, yarn textures. I try to forget it, but I can't.

Tant pis. On va dire que c'est mon point fétiche - comme ça, je pourrai l'utiliser tant que je veux, sans me dire que c'est peut-être trop...

Resistance seems futile. Let's just say it's my signature stitch - this way, I can use it as much as I like, without wondering if I really shouldn't do something else...

Have you ever tried slip stitch crochet?

Everything consists of slip-stitches, but depending on whether you use the front or back loop of the previous row it creates different patterns.

It is an amazing way to create drape similar to what you would get if you were knitting.
